Passing River Kholoki. This river marks the border between the autonomous republic of Adjara and the rest of Georgia. A month earlier Georgia was on the verge to civil war due to differences in opinion between the Adjarian president Aslan Abashidze and the georgian government. Abashidze blew up all bridges connecting Adjara with Georgia. To the left in this picture is the old, destroyed bridge.
